Aaron and Josh Sarnecky are here to talk about The Nightmare Before Christmas for its 30th anniversary.

The Nightmare Before Christmas is an animated musical film directed by Henry Selick, based on a story by Tim Burton. It opened in theaters on October 29, 1993.

In the movie, Jack Skellington (Chris Sarandon, Danny Elfman), the Pumpkin King of Halloween Town, discovers Christmas Town. Attempting to dissuade Jack from usurping Christmas from Santa (Ed Ivory) is the living ragdoll Sally (Catherine O’Hara). Meanwhile, the villainous Oogie Boogie (Ken Page) has his own plans for Santa.

The film was a modest box office success but has since garnered a strong following, making it one of Disney’s most recognizable properties. It was nominated at the Oscars for Best Visual Effects but lost to Jurassic Park.

Aaron and Josh talk about the movie’s plot, characters, animation, and songs. They also discuss if a sequel or prequel could work.
