According to our guest today, we have been approaching sales wrong for generations. The advent of social media further highlighted our greatest misunderstanding of sales:

It should always begin as a relationship first. Now that platforms like social media are used as cut-and-dry sales tools, potential customers are leerier than ever to be “sold to”. So if traditional sales tactics won’t cut it anymore, what will?

The answer: emotional intelligence. By listening to what potential customers actually need, you can eliminate the pitch or sales tactic. By starting off interactions from a place of relationship and curiosity, the pressure is lifted, and authentic connections have room to take place.
