The news of Texas covered today includes:

Our Lone Star story of the day: A Texas Senate hearing showed how horrible it is for legislators to ignore the culture wars. All tax and regulatory policy, through the reps elected by voters, ultimately flows from the culture and that must be remembered.
The hearing showed that DEI is “deeply embedded” in the personal and world view of Texans in our colleges. I posit that such couldn’t happen just at college; they must also be experiencing such in public school before college. Read this coverage of the hearing from Sherry Sylvester and then you should realize that ignoring culture/social issues is a recipe for failure for Republicans and disaster for our country.
Our Lone Star story of the day is sponsored by Allied Compliance Services providing the best service in DOT, business and personal drug and alcohol testing since 1995.

The Texas GOP convention is underway in San Antonio and the pressure on the lobby’s boy, Drinker of the House Dade Phelan, began early.
I comment on a story (more) about how one can circumvent a secret ballot in Texas. Statement from the Secretary of State.
