The news of Texas covered today includes:

Our Lone Star story of the day: Man was I right?! CenterPoint, and Entergy to a lesser extent, are becoming the public scapegoat for the unpleasantness following weak Hurricane Beryl. Interestingly, the Houston Police Dept. did not even think it needed to go on full mobilization until 24 hours after the hurricane hit and I agree with them, it wasn’t needed.
Clearly the move up and East for landfall made it very difficult to have private sector crews stationed in the right places. And, let’s think about the criticism that would have come from the same quarters if the storm had rapidly intensified and recovery crews and their had become casualties.
Our Lone Star story of the day is sponsored by Allied Compliance Services providing the best service in DOT, business and personal drug and alcohol testing since 1995.

Biden Campaign Deathwatch: Frenzy behind the Scenes. Will he bow out this evening?
University of Houston’s Satan statue beheaded during the hurricane – officials and media blame pro-lifers – that’s a blame I’d be happy to carry all the way into the courthouse!
Despite rumors to the contrary and Ken Paxton saying it was so, it doesn’t look as if the Texas House Star Chamber is actually meeting next week to launch another impeachment attempt. This story does get the background of the shameful House Investigative Committee right.
