As the Manager of Economic Development for the City of Prince George, Melissa’s role is to facilitate and promote economic growth and diversification in order to increase the population and tax base.
After graduating from the University of Northern British Columbia, Melissa began her economic development career as an intern at Northern Development Initiative Trust. From there, she moved to Williams Lake where she worked in economic development, marketing and event planning before returning to Prince George to work at Initiatives Prince George. In September 2015, Melissa was hired by the City of Prince George and led the transition of Economic Development from an arms-length organization to a division within City Hall.
