Tension builds as Conan approaches the Inmost Cave, pursued by the Khitan monks. We discuss that, and talk about how odd it is that he never thinks about Belît, the pirate-queen flame of his youth. Then we read Chapter 17, in which Conan slips ashore in Khemi, unnoticed until he kills a sacred temple snake as it's about to attack him; then an angry mob chases him into a temple, where he kills a masked priest, puts on his costume, and joins a procession of priests. Then, just as he's about to slip away from them, he hears the name 'Thutothmes.'(MP3 audio reading from 'Hour of the Dragon,' by Robert E. Howard (1935). Reader: Finn J.D. John.
