Take a look back at the week of June 30th through July 7th with Rick and Ben. In a world of partisan media follow along as we take a logical look at the headlines of the week. We're like the Sunday paper, only more opinionated with 99.9% less advertising!

Please subscribe, rate, and review the show. Comment with your opinions and lets get a conversation started. Follow @RickandBen and like PPP on FB at politically purple.

This week:

1. Money For Nothing (Except A Ride To The Hospital) - Local Syracuse hospital paid a former CEO, Dr. John McCabe, $660,500 to do basically nothing while he stepped down. Dr. McCabe is unable to discuss this issue due to a non-disclosure agreement. Upstate Hospital refuses comment.

All this is being discussed while a woman in Boston gets her leg stuck between a train and the standing platform. What is her first request? "Please don't call an ambulance, do you know how much they cost? Rick and Ben ask why there is such a disconnect.

2. Oh SNAP! Should able bodied people without dependents be required to work or study for 20 hours? Hint: YES!

3. NPR recently labeled a woman that bought and gave drugs to a man who died as a bystander. Is she just a bystander or is she partly responsible?

4. An 89-year-old African American grandmother is denied access to a restroom. Ben and Rick argue on whether it's a racial issue or a simple human being issue.

5. Aliens are coming, the aliens are coming... with frickin lasers!

6. Syracuse local known as the 'angry splash mountain lady' turns out to be a wonderful human being. Even if you skip the whole show, listen to the last few minutes to hear about this amazing woman.
