Loper Bright v. Raimondo
Manage episode 435573417 series 3343405
Welcome to today's episode of Queer PoliFaith. Today's episode focuses on the case Loper Bright v. Raimondo which overruled the 40-year old Chevron doctrine for the flimisest of reasons. Thae case has ramifications beyond just administrative law because the Court seized power from people who had been granted the power by Congress and I want to place this decision in the context of how the right-wing members of the Court are trying to give themselves and like-minded judges power to overturn the will of the people as expressed in Congress. Listen for more details.
Before I get to the case, I talk about some issues I've seen with the political Left dealing with purity. Yes, the same issues Billie and I talked about when we talked about fascism and Christian Nationalism (Part I here and Part II here) and her interview earlier in the year. It's worrisome and needs to be talked about.
Our next episode will come out on September 5th and will be about the Corner Post case.
