The Lizzo lawsuit may have dominated the news cycle, but a lot happened last week. First, this Lizzo employment lawsuit is bananas. The allegations strike at the heart of Lizzos brand and though she responded to the allegations, it wasn’t a specific denial of most of them. I would be surprised if this suit doesn’t end up in arbitration. Mr. Beast sued Mr. Beast Burger after complaining that the company he was working with for the ghost kitchens was holding him into a contract even though he argued they weren’t upholding their obligations. Specifically citing terrible quality control and including too many pictures of undercooked and raw food to prove it. Kohberger turned over his ‘alibi’ defense to the prosecution according to the laws in Idaho, and the prosecution filed a motion to compel because what Kohberger's team turned over was not an ‘alibi’ defense. At the end of the week, the Defense opposed the motion, indicating that Kohberger was out driving alone, as was his habit. So basically, his alibi is ‘it wasn’t me’. Finally, I talked with Mandy Matney about the future of reporting, what drove her coverage of the Murdaugh story, and what is next.
