Max Verstappen established a commanding lead in the F1 Drivers’ Championship with victory in the Canadian Grand Prix, but the Dutchman was made to work for his sixth win of the season, with Carlos Sainz breathing down his neck for the final 15 laps.

With Sergio Perez retiring and Charles Leclerc finishing only fifth after starting from the back following a grid penalty, Verstappen now has a 46-point lead after nine races of 2022.

To discuss the key issues from Montreal, Michael Butterworth is joined by Dieter Rencken, Editorial Director of RacingNews365.

Away from the on-track action, there was fierce debate behind the scenes as Team Principals disagreed over the FIA’s decision to impose limits on the permitted amount of porpoising. Is the FIA right to intervene like this, or should teams be responsible for managing the issue?

With energy prices rising and inflation soaring across the globe, should the FIA step in and increase its budget cap to compensate?

And might we see the Honda name back in F1 sooner than expected?

All this and much more on this edition of the RacingNews365.com podcast!
