Enligt officiella statliga källor i Ryssland fick Vladimir Putin hela 87 procent av rösterna, i ett val som de flesta demokratiska stater dömt ut som riggat och illegitimt.

Samtidigt väntas flera impopulära beslut fattas i presidentvalets kölvatten, så som ökad mobilisering till anfallskriget i Ukraina och höjda skatter. Digitaliserad övervakning gör det också allt enklare för myndigheterna att kontrollera sina invånare. Hur mycket hårdare kan det ryska samhället bli under de kommande åren?

Under valnattens presskonferens valde Putin plötsligt att nämna den nu döda oppositionspolitikern Aleksej Navalnyj vid namn, varför skedde detta just nu?
