Mathieu van der Poel gewinnt die erste Etappe der UAE Tour in Al Mirfa. Die zweite Etappe, ausgetragen als 13 Kilometer langes Einzelzeitfahren geht an Filippo Ganna. Der Zeitfahrweltmeister setzt sich in seiner Disziplin mit 14 Sekunden gegen Stefan Bissegger von EF Education Nippo und UAE Jungprofi Mikkel Bjerg durch. Das Leader-Trikot übernimmt Tour de France Sieger Tadej Pogacar. Ende Februar nimmt die neue Saison mit dem Omloop Het Nieuwsblad ihre volle Fahrt auf.
