We ask our student teachers Ms. Jorssen and Ms. Webster what that was like and how they got to this point. Mr. Yuill and I welcome these two talented and passionate people to our profession. It’s a conversation with two close friends. I taught Gurnoor in Innovation 10 as well as InfoTech and Engineering. As well, she was my excellent peer tutor. I never taught Annabelle but she spent a great deal of time auditing the Engineering course.…

From the first sketch we saw coming from Han, we knew she was talented. Over the five years she's been at Delview, she's participated in many Fine Arts Nights, and has produced posters, logos, book covers, social media art, and plenty of whiteboard masterpieces that were painful to erase. She has been practicing for a long time and hopes to continue creating and sharing her art in some form or another into the future. In this episode, we talk about Han's life, art, and the future of art. We also discuss the advent of AI and what that means for artists. Kassie Lind co-hosts this one. We are at Episode 50!!! We've had almost 8 great years so far and hope for many more to come. The students, staff, and other guests are what make this show - there is an endless supply of people we are able to interview, each with their own stories and talents to share. We hope you continue to enjoy the show and we thank you for supporting us by listening!…

Diane has always been an amazingly positive and kind person, but when cancer struck her just a few days into the start of the school year in 2021, she showed everyone what “making the best of it” truly means. In this episode we chat with Delview student, Akari Ishige, who is from Tokyo Japan. She’s one of our International Students and someone we’ve come to know very well here at Delview with her involvement in everything our school has to offer from her Live At Lunch performances as a singer and pianist to Drama productions including "Urinetown The Musical" which showing now in our Patti Hillman Theatre! I taught Akari web design and programming at the beginning of the pandemic as she was just trying to get adjusted to life in Canada. It still astounds me how much grit she has to have navigated that difficult time especially having just left her home and family almost 8000 km away in Tokyo to study in a country where she had to make new friends and learn a new language. The amazing Mr. Yuill joins me as co-host for this episode. Enjoy! Trigger Warning: This episode contains sensitive content that may be triggering for individuals who have experienced or are currently experiencing mental health challenges. Akari talks about her struggles with an eating disorder and negative thoughts she’s had about her life. Please take care and prioritize your well-being while listening. Nancy's retiring! Our Assistant Superintendent and educator of 42 years, Nancy Gordon, came in to talk to us not once, but twice. Unfortunately, for the first time ever on the podcast, the audio file corrupted and Nancy graciously offered to come back for a redo, this time with multiple backups. Mark Turpin and I ask her about her career, legacy, and also what it was like being the parent of a student who graduated from Delview. Nancy has been strong supporter of our school community over the years and I have had the pleasure of working with her on a number of occasions. We wish her a happy retirement!…
