“I only met Sidi Daniel Abdal Hayy Moore once, as he was working his way through a UK tour and I happened to be with some people with whom he was intimately acquainted. Although we had never met before, he and his wife met me like old friends. My friend gave me a copy of his Ramadan Sonnets and having read his poems, I understood why his presence was so friendly, warm and nourishing. Anyone who understands the human spirit like he did, could be an old friend, even to a passing stranger.”
