Die Goldene Sieben - The Golden Seven

Welcome to Glenn Robison’s Rapidly Rotating Records, bringing you vintage music to which you can’t not tap your toes, from rapidly rotating 78 RPM records of the 1920s and ’30s.

Do you know who these seven fellows are? They’re the German jazz ensemble Die Goldene Sieben, or in English, The Golden Seven. You’ll hear three of their records from the 1930s in the second segment of this week’s edition of Rapidly Rotating Records. In other segments, we’ll celebrate the birthday of Roy Harvey, go to the tobacco auction, hear from the Three Tobacco Tags and find out what a “Mad Apple” is. There’s lots of great music and interesting information, so set aside an hour with your favorite beverage and prepare to be taken back to an earlier–and we think better-musical era. Just click on the player above to listen streaming online and/or download for listening at your convenience.

THANK YOU FOR LISTENING!
