Women’s History Month RRR # 1,236 March 24, 2024
Manage episode 408702301 series 1286636
Welcome to Glenn Robison’s Rapidly Rotating Records, bringing you vintage music to which you can’t not tap your toes, from rapidly rotating 78 RPM records of the 1920s and ’30s.
March is Women’s History Month and we here at Rapidly Rotating Records are joining in to commemorate, and encourage the study, observance and celebration of the vital role of women in American history and recording history. All of the records on this week’s show are by or about women. The second record on tonight’s show is in fact “Fall In Line,” subtitled “Suffrage March” written by Zena S. Hawn. The cover of the Tams sheet music is shown above. Other topics on the show have to do with women in aviation, women in film and women in the military. The last two sets are songs written by and/or performed by women. There’s lots of great music and interesting information, so set aside an hour with your favorite beverage and prepare to be taken back to an earlier–and we think better-musical era. Just click on the player above to listen streaming online and/or download for listening at your convenience.
THANK YOU FOR LISTENING!
