Superhero Summer Part 3: The Rocketeer 1991

Rare Cuts Epic Superhero Summer goes back one more time into the Disney Library with 1991’s The Rocketeer. Andrew picks this adventure film about a young pilot who stumbles upon a jetpack that transforms him into a high-flying hero, battling Nazis and saving the day in 1930s Los Angeles. "The Rocketeer" stars Billy Campbell as the titular hero, Cliff Secord, Jennifer Connelly as his girlfriend Jenny Blake, and Timothy Dalton as the villainous actor Neville Sinclair. The cast also includes Alan Arkin as Cliff's mentor, Peevy, and Paul Sorvino as mobster Eddie Valentine. The Panel discuss the reasons this movie isn’t praised as the big blockbuster Disney Intended it to be. And because this one is Disney, Eric goes off the rails and talks a little too much about Disney…like he doesn’t have some other podcast about Disney to do that on! Anyway…Soar into this episode with the Rare Cuts Media Society!
