In this episode of #Raw Magic, host Susan-Jane Rome gives us a new perspective and look at the overdone topic of gratitude! She describes the negative conditions a lot of us have lived through, and the unfortunate circumstances we've overcome, and how brilliant it is that we're here to help others and illuminate the world we live in to make it a brighter, better place.

SJR describes the 2 parts of gratitude, and explains the people have modeled for her what it's like to re-parent herself and love herself in order for her to grow. She shares that in her early life, she wanted to be anyone but herself, and that she had to grow into someone who was grateful for who she is, and what she has in terms of blessings and things to be happy about. She talks about the different perspectives we adopt, and how easy it is to lose sight of the gifts life has to offer, but that it's just as easy to shift things back into a space of gratitude.

She briefly mentions the Law of Attractions and how it has become “hip”. She also describes the change that occurs when we become solution oriented thinkers instead of problem oriented thinkers. SJR talks about the fact that we can course correct if we're unhappy, and that our internal makeup allows us to recognize when we need to change our thinking.

SJR explains a misinterpretation of gratitude, and some simple ways to practice daily gratitude in order to raise your own vibration, as well as the vibration of others in order to create a ripple effect to impact the world. She shares that we need to spend more time in our bodies, and less time in our heads in order to feel what we need to feel, rather than over-think everything. Feeling has a place in our consciousness, and we need to stop ignoring it, and begin trusting it.

She takes a couple of minute to walk us through a quick gratitude mediation, in order to relax and become more receptive to what is meant for us.

Quotes:

“you have been through the fire, that's why you have it to give”

“How amazing is it that we've come out to light up the world?”

“We affirm that there's good things in the world. Gifts and benefits we've received”

“The first part of my career was acting, so I could be anybody but me”

“We start to notice what we do have instead of what we don't have”

“I used to believe it was happening for me, now I believe it's happening from me”

“You can't have your attention on ego and gratitude at the same time”

“Let that breath go knowing that the next breath will be there for you”

“You're a gift to the world. A blessing”
