There is no greater lie than the idea that intoxication contributes to creativity. The idea that you create drunk and edit sober is today, a total falsity. This episode features the prolific and energetic @popbuchanan who is the man behind @soberisdope and @monkhealing We are here to dismantle the old idea, which I believe was true at one point in time, that intoxication contributes to creativity. My next episode with @bakerallen will address the idea that consciousness is something we are gaining ever-increasing amounts of access to but that is an important part of this episode as well. 50 years ago we, as people connected to the greater consciousness, did not have as much access to information on the other side of the physical veil as we have today. That was the reason intoxication was such a large part of our story of creativity.

Today there is a different access point that is directly connected to us without the use of intoxication. That is not to say the intoxication cannot get you experience, of course, it can, but the substance is not going to alter you, or your life, in a way that is sustainable. That is your job, YOU are the source of all things and the power of your creativity cannot be given to a substance, that will just end up being another thing you will have to recover while recovering yourself.

Questions to consider and discuss:
Do you have an assumption about creativity and intoxication?
Where is the idea of creativity and intoxication promoted around you?
What aspects of yourself do you believe are enhanced by intoxication? Why do you believe this?
Without significant sober experiences, you will not be able to adequately judge your ability to interact, create, or do anything. How much time do you think it would take to shed intoxication, and the damage it has done to your mind, in order to think clearly? This is a question to consider and discuss because there is no set time, but if you are not thinking clearly you cannot judge yourself honestly.
