Welcome to the Saving Throes podcast! This is my Tabletop role-playing game podcast, part of the Red Rooster's Gaming Coop network where I talk gaming and gaming culture every week. Each episode will feature a topic or theme along with my take on current happenings in the world of tabletop role-playing games and semi regular updates on the games I am currently involved with, or new games or products I have come across.
A new segment for the show debuts today - At the Movies! This is exactly what it sounds like, I will be examining movies that are parallel to the TTRPG hobby. Whether it is direct film adaptations of popular TTRPG properties, or gaming adjacent films such as documentaries and the like, I will showcase them here on this segment. In this first episode featuring this segment I am honing in on a classic franchise that garnered a lot of love from fans throughout the TTRPG hobby - The Gamers! This episode will focus on the core 3 movies, the 2002 original short film, and it's 2 sequels, Darkness Rising and The Hands of Fate. At the time of this recording, the potential 4th film, Darkness Falls is still in Kickstarter, waiting to be funded.
