David Lawson is an entrepreneur, a life coach, and the founder of Awake Warrior.
Life is hard as we know it, we have to deal with the outside world while keeping what's happening between our ears in check. Everyone has gone through a traumatic event at some point in their lives. When we don't address and heal these emotional scars we carry with us, they start to pile up sending our emotional health downhill.
Most men suppress emotions and traumas, that's what society has taught them. We feel weak and shameful when we are vulnerable and sharing our emotions. This emotional bottling technique tends to lead to a buildup of destructive energy that manifests as stress, anxiety, and in many cases burnout.
David shares his story of how losing his dad at a young age and not knowing how to deal with emotions such as grief, pushed him to white-knuckle his way through life without addressing the issue at hand internally until his body couldn't take it anymore. He also shares the techniques he used to heal that part of himself, eventually making him a better husband and a happier man.
