toy-story-1-1024x640To infinity and beyond! Welcome to Episode 17 of “Reel Chat” – a podcast that guarantees week in, week out – the “Reel world as we know it.”

On this first episode of our “Pixar” retrospective series, host Adam Stolfo is joined as usual by co-host Brose Avard, regular guest Andrew McCaskill, and special celebrity guest and actress Natasha Leigh to look at the very first feature-length computer generated film – 1995’s “Toy Story” – a film that invaded thousands of theatres, took international audiences by storm, and inspired an artistic revolution that continues to rage some twenty years after it’s first battle was forged.

More than just the first of it’s kind, “Toy Story” remains one of Pixar’s finest, and the first of a thriving breed of new Disney classics. With the popular franchise having it’s 20th Anniversary in 2015, and “Toy Story 4” recently announced to be in the works, the “Reel Chat” team delve deep into the film’s ground-breaking legacy, it’s amazing voice cast, the incredible musical talents of composer Randy Newman, the film’s (numerous) DVD and Blu-Ray release overload, trivia tidbits, the must-hear story of why there weren’t many “Toy Story” toys released during the film’s release, as well as the age- old question of why the toys in “Toy Story” freeze when in the vicinity of humans!

It’s also time for another dose of “The Assignment” – with Brose set the task of watching and reviewing his nightmare – the David Lynch 3-hour epic – “Inland Empire.
