Batman_Begins_poster6The legend begins! Welcome to Episode 51 of Reel Chat – a podcast that’s making it’s long anticipated return after a 2 month hiatus. It’s great to be back and the guys can’t wait to get stuck into what will be a very exciting year of podcasting and cinema in 2016.

Your host Adam Stolfo is joined by returning co-host Brose Avard, Andrew McCaskill and huge Batman fan Roddy Avard to discuss the first entry in Christopher Nolan’s all encompassing Dark Knight Trilogy – 2005’s “Batman Begins.”

With a lot of geek love and hot anticipation for the upcoming release of “Batman V. Superman: Dawn Of Justice” at the end of March this year, there really is no better time for the Reel Chat guys to get stuck into the seemingly ongoing Batman and Superman franchises.

So, what was it exactly that was so appealing about this particular reboot? “Batman Begins” was definitely a game-changer, with many comic book films of the last 11 years following it’s dark, gritty and semi-realistic take on it’s source material. But was that a good thing or a bad thing? Did we really need everything to go down this path? This is one of the many points the guys will cover.

Enjoy the return of their weekly banter, as the Reel Chat team breaks down the origin of Batman – such as whether he has longevity, or whether he has a shelf life. They also look in detail at Christian Bale’s portrayal of the title character, the film’s superior cast of supporting superstars, it’s game-changing director, the film’s new Batmobile (The Tumbler), the epic sound (and lasting) legacy of Hans Zimmer and James Newtown Howard’s musical score, it’s surprisingly underwhelming Blu-ray picture quality (and why that is), as well as how this one compares to the Burton or Schumacher Batman films of days past.
