Pastor Paula begins an eight part series on the Beatitudes, from Matthew 5:1-8, with a focus on what it means to be poor in spirit. As we rely on God and acknowledge that we need God to find wholeness in our lives, we are able to be filled with all that God wishes to offer us. And it begins by acknowledging that we aren't perfect--and that is OK.
Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Matthew 5:3
Opening; Scriptures 1:50; Message-3:57; Song "Lead Me Lord"- 15:15; Community Connection-17:56; Closing-23:58
Scripture texts-Isaiah 66:1-2, New Life Version; 1 Peter 5:5b-7 New Revised Standard Version; Luke 18:9-14-The Message
Many thanks to Pastor Dan McKnight, the opening announcer, Pastor Janel Kuester for reading the Scriptures, and Camy Wenberg, for her faithful and wonderful gift of music, and Ruth Skinner for singing the closing song.
