Police use a water cannon to put out a fire started by protesters during a protest against plans to pass the Dakota Access pipeline near the Standing Rock Indian Reservation, near Cannon Ball, North Dakota, U.S. November 20, 2016. REUTERS/Stephanie Keith

No to the Dakota Access Pipeline! But, please don’t protest at Standing Rock anymore. Fight for the Earth in the Court system. Sue the federal government. Protesting – It’s too dangerous, and the militarized police and National Guard might kill you. They have already attacked many people, shot them and nearly blown off one woman’s arm. (Here is Jordan Chariton’s Facebook reporting on all this). This pipeline is not worth anyone’s life. Stop protesting there, protest it somewhere else if you have to, including online, including anywhere else but at Standing Rock. Move the protest. THEN: We have to sue the government for allowing this. Sue the government and the state for allowing a pipeline and breaking native treaties. But get out of harm’s way! Let’s get an army of lawyers working for the environment!

Obama administration silent on police at protest

Montana governor story.
There are group that sue for the environment, or legally defend the environment. (List here) One suit has already had a victory of sorts in court recently. We have to fight for the earth in courts. Clips from TYTnetwork and Climate Cast.
