Up and coming Mia Zapata, age 27, was emerging onto the Seattle grunge music scene in the early 1990's with her band The Gits. Mia was murdered on her way home after leaving a friend's house in the early morning hours of July 7th, 1993. Her murder would remain unsolved for 10 years until DNA testing would finally bring her killer to justice.

*Episode has been updated to correct a mistake. Someone take my "90's kid grunge card" away. The song "A Change Is Gonna Come" was written by Sam Cooke. Apologies to anyone who heard the previously incorrect version.
