Hey Mama!

Imagine the alarm going off, you hit snooze, and before you know it your kids are running in your room to wake you up to make them breakfast, or your littles are screaming in their beds for you to come get them. So you crawl out of bed half asleep rubbing the dried sleep goop out of your eyes as you peel yourself off the bed and out of the room.

You rush to do your business in the bathroom grab the kids, pour yourself a cup of coffee that ends up sitting there getting cold and you have to reheat it 3 times before you end up dumping it in the sink or drinking it lukewarm for the unpteenth morning in a row. By the time the morning is done, you are running on auto pilot, no time to yourself, knowing how difficult the rest of the day may be if it goes like all the other days, and you are already looking forward to bed time.

Is this you? Has it been you? It’s so not fun to start your day like this. It CAN be better!

I used to let my kids determine my wake up time, and when I worked out of the house, I often times would still wake up around the same time as when I had to get my kids up. Those mornings were not fun. I was always rushing, whether I had to get the kids up and going and ready for school, while I got ready for work, or when I was working from home, if I let the kids determine my wake up time, I was rushing from the moment I woke up to the moment I went to bed. Why is that?

When you start your day off with chaos, you are going to be in that mindset for the rest of the day, unless you are extremely intentional about getting out of that mindset, but it is often difficult to do once you are there.

You are playing catch up the entire time. Playing defense instead of offense, reacting to each situation, instead of being prepared. That is not an effective state to be in and will make you completely exhausted by the end of the day.

Starting with a morning routine, getting yourself in the right frame of mind instead of starting off with chaos, will make all the difference for the rest of your day.
