Growing up in India, Rohit Juneja was super curious about all things spiritual. Having lived an extremely diverse life, studying various religions and even was a monk, he found a peaceful state within, now teaching others to find the same.

Some of his practices are mindful meditations, past life regression and removing the deeply rooted causes of present pain and blocks.

He works with clients to step out of response-based victim thinking and instead, recasts the person into a position of empowerment so they can embrace, even re-write, their story and live a new, more powerful and exciting narrative.

Listen along as we have Rohit for 38 minutes of pure gold.

Enjoy!

Number of speakers: 2 (Robin Reed R.R., Rohit Juneja – R.J.) Duration: 38:32

R.J.: I am originally from India and I ve been searching and asking questions ever since I was a little kid since I was about 13, really. I started to say, What is this world? Why am I here? You know? What s the purpose of life? I could see even back then that we re going to die and leave it all behind and it didn t make sense to me. To just struggle and slave, accumulate and you have to leave it all behind. For what? It seems senseless. That led me into searching for meaning and purpose and who am I and who is God, and what is this life all about? Why are we here?

Being from India, I got to explore a lot of the rich spiritual heritage and culture that is there. I even went into things that most people have forgotten in time texts that has been around for thousands of years which hardly anyone reads, but it was full of such incredible depth and wisdom.

Now, along the journey, I did a lot of things including being an entrepreneur for many years, becoming a monk, being an artist, just a lot of things, worked with kids, worked with adults, and then finally in 2004, I trained in spiritual psychotherapy. That became my passion being able to further my own spiritual growth and that of others.

Around that time in the year 2000, I began writing and it s that writing that led to my first book, Loving Soulfully and God You Sexy devil my second book. They re all about questions. Questions that I ve had since I was a kid. Questions and all of that stuff. What happens when I m writing is I actually go into an altered state. My mind is absolutely blank. This happens very naturally. I ve learned how to do it and I teach people how to go there where I m at now I just have to sit in it and I immediately enter into that zone and in that state when the mind is quiet, I put my questions out and the answers that come have been absolutely mind blowing.

R.R.: Okay. Talk to us about some of that. Anything you can reveal? A magician protects his secrets.

R.J.: No, in this case I don t want to. I want to actually share my secrets because I would love to see more and more people do that. I don t see any value in being exclusive to having some secret potion and holding onto that. I would rather see thousands of people across the world learn how to connect with that inner voice of theirs. Find that wisdom that lies within each and everyone of us and then be able to bring forth great teachings into the world that will not only benefit themselves but others. What I ve seen is that, it requires one simple thing: learning how to still the mind. Most people struggle with that, so I m actually setting up a very short free little giveaway I m going to have on my website where people can go there and get the basic tips that it takes to be able to make your mind absolutely quiet. It s a process that I call Taking power back from the mind we ve given the mind too much power, we let it run our lives, and we don t even realize it. I ve developed very simple techniques and tools that will help people still that mind, take back the power and come to a place where they are where you, the soul spirit is in charge and the mind is like a computer or a little puppy dog kind of like, sitting at your feet, and it s sitting there for use when you need it, but it s not running the show the way it is for most people right now.

R.R.: Wow, I love that. Well I am clay, mold me. I want to hear about this.

R.J.: This is the gift I want to bring. Once people have a quiet mind, I know they ll be able to tap into what I call their true greatness and that is the ability to do great things. I know that most great artists, writers, musicians, they all know how to tap into this space and I want to see that happen for everyone where each one of us can tap into that unlimited potential that lies within us. I mean, I write such an incredible things and I look and read them, I m like, My God, it came through me, As I know some musicians have said, the music came through them. Just popped into their mind. The tune just came in or I ve heard a lot of people say this stuff. Einstein, Newton, even Michael Jackson would say stuff like that. These people went on to be greats. They made stuff that was extremely popular that touched peoples hearts, minds, signs, everything. I call it the key to greatness, having a quiet mind.

R.R.: How, Rohit, do you get into that state? Is that something in a sentence? Is that the practice?

R.J.: It s a practice and it s a training. I ll tell you the really short part of it and that is, you have to decide who s the boss. Is your mind, the chattering mind, the boss? Or is there something else, which I call spirit we ve all had moments of quiet where our minds settle down, moments, perhaps seconds, but I know I ve tired to meditate for almost 20 years and it wouldn t happen, 10 years, sorry, and I just wouldn t get quiet and when it finally did, I was like, Oh my goodness, this is such an incredible place to be, I want to get back here again and again, I was addicted to that.

R.R.: When did that happen for you?

R.J.: It happened, I would say it was 25 years ago.

R.R.: So you experienced this bliss zone for 25 years?

R.J.: Yes and I want to share it with the world. I want people to live like this happy, free, nothing can phase you. It s not that stuff doesn t happen, stuff happens all the time to me, the way I respond to it and the way I see other people respond to it, I wish I could pass these tools on and if I were going to tell you the really short way to get there and that is this, that you basically need to decide who s in charge. If your spirit, soul is in charge, then first learn to observe the mind. Observe the chatter going on and don t agree or disagree with anything. Don t believe anything it s telling you and do that as a practice. Just observe it first without getting sucked into what it s telling you. Observe it and don t agree or disagree. Think of when you have an e-mail and it says, the green button or the red button. Don t click on either one.

R.R.: What was life like before you experienced these tools? Did it go from just crazy chaos to this zen peace? Or how did it change?

R.J.: It changed like this: first I was under the impression that it s really difficult. I always had the idea it might take many life times even or years at least to be able to come to this place and for 10 years I tried to meditate and I failed miserably. I couldn t get it right. One day it just happened. I was driving down the freeway, listening to music in the car, doing nothing other than drive and it suddenly happened my mind is quiet and I said, Maybe this is much easier than I thought it is. You can just be simple. Maybe I ve been approaching this the wrong way, so I try to apply that. I go into nature and I say, You know what? I m going to slip into this zone, I m just going to go there, with intention, it would just happen.

Now I ve been able to bring it down to a kind of system and to help people, but the system that I understood is this: you have to make that decision in yourself and if you re the boss of your mind, it can t be a part-time boss. Sometimes it bullies you and sometimes you re in charge no. It doesn t work like that. If you re the boss of your mind, you have to be that all the time. You have to take back power and say and actually direct it and say, Excuse me I don t believe what you re saying, prove it to me, you challenge it. You don t just sit around believing stuff. For example, if my mind told me right now, You know I how he s thinking about me or I know what people are thinking about me, Well the fact of the matter is if I really analyze that statement, it is not true.

My mind wants to think it can read other peoples minds but it can t. It s not capable of doing that. You can always test it, it cannot. It wants to predict but it cannot. It wants to understand so many things that it cannot. There s so much that it s not able to figure out and you have to understand it s limitations, but it s an imposter. It tries to keep acting as if it can. It s very well-meaning, but when you understand it s limitations you realize, Okay, take it easy. Terrible things are going to happen.

R.R.: I heard it once said that your mind is very primal, its there to really protect your body. Now when I heard that it was like, you know that makes a lot of sense as far as some of the decisions I ve made or some of the fears that have come that those fears they weren t real but they were real to my mind.

R.J.: Right while primal concerns are wonderful and to be appreciated. I m not saying that we dismiss it we simply treat it as a boss as the employee walks in and says, Hey you know what? The business is just going apart right now ruined, Hey, chill, chill, just sit down and tell me what s really going on and stop freaking out. Tell me what s really happened, okay? And there are a number of stages to this thing. It s not them giving you the simple version of it. The important piece to know is the benefit that you get. Once your mind becomes quiet, you really do start to tap into knowledge, wisdom, talents, abilities, strengths and inner power that you never knew you had before. It s really quiet phenomenal.

Outside of the very basic stuff which is peace and a feeling of expansiveness and feeling loving, and so on. I find that a lot of people enter the spiritual path and get wrapped up in books and workshops, reading this and that and the other, but don t really achieve the most basic fundamental thing which is having a quiet mind and without that, I don t see much good coming out of it because you really are struggling with this incredible force that is relentless and doesn t let go, you know?

R.R.: Yeah, I do know and I would suspect that about 95% of anybody that listens to this or can relate and I think that s just kind of the human condition that was described to me best that we have these centuries and centuries and maybe millions of years of primal software. We just need a good old fashioned software upgrade saber-toothed tiger behind us in that fight/flight or freeze of our reptilian brain. It s just no longer appropriate that we re triggered by a loud horn or our boss looking at us funny or our wife asking us to take out the trash. We flip out on these things.

R.J.: That s right. So often I felt like that as if I m sore, like I ve been punched and beaten. There s apart of me that has spent perhaps this life and maybe many others being whipped into place by this inner critic and this inner confusion and chaos that exists in the mind and at times I feel that and it s like, I don t want anymore, sometimes when I come across people that are very loud or conflicted who want to fight, it s just like, Oh my God, horrible feeling that goes through me that I ve been through this again and again and it not only inside, I ve been grappling this thing for lifetimes and I ve now had enough and I m sure there s others out there that come to this feeling of enough of all of this I want to come to a place where my life is not a struggle anymore, where the journey of life yes I can do it with mastery it s not that there won t be challenges, whatever s going to happen I can do with ease, skill, and grace. So I think we all deserve that and it s high time.

But that brings us to a very important point, in God You Sexy Devil, I talk about something, not just to provoke, but that s what a lot of folks in religion talk about and they use that to manipulate people to join their church, club, or mosque temple or whatever it is with the idea that they can make people afraid enough to be able to go along with their faith, but what I want to point out is this: while it is used in a negative way, it s important to understand what is this negative energy that creates the chaos in the world? And though they demonize it and satanize it, I want to tell you, as much as there is light energy, there is dark energy that s my experience. I do hypnotherapy and past-life regression, and when I do regression people, this is what often shows up the darkness within them. almost everybody has the reason that dark energy is there within us it s not some terrible thing. It s there to be a force that we have to push through kind of like going to the gym. You lift weights, you push on things and these things strengthen you. You go to school and teachers give you tests and exams and those things strengthen you. You have to push your mind and expand your understanding and your capability so that s what that negativity is doing. Inside and outside and it s creating the chaos. It s in service to us. It s not that we need to identify it or become it, we simply need to know why it exists and then with respect and understanding for why it s there, using our light, we learn to push through all the opposition it s giving us.

R.R.: Obviously you re not the first person to talk about this. This all sounds very nirvanic. What does someone do? I mean, what I love about what you re talking about, however, is that it sounds very practical, but I haven t heard any how yet. Do I need to buy the book for that? That s okay if I do.

R.J.: The book actually gives you a foundational understanding. The How-to book will be on it s way, but what I m doing is giving away some tips in that direction. I want to give that away freely. The how-to is what I started talking to you about. If you would like more that I ll go into it a little further.

R.R.: Why don t you give us a minute or two of that just a taste. Because we hear this type of stuff I ve talked to hundreds of people and people are tired. People are tired. Yes, they want a great life, but the temptations of life are just there. It s so much easier to grab a drink, just move into numbing, and so what is the hope here?

R.J.: Numbing and all that stuff might work, shopping, working, drinking, drugs, all of that might give you some relief as long as you re struggling with relief from your misery, you re just putting a band aid on your wounds and what they need is real surgery and the surgery out here is not about just about positive thinking or being in the light of some kind of la la land. It s very practical. In fact, it s so practical that s why I started talking about the darkness imagine this: imagine a bully is coming at you or an aggressive person is coming at you, do you know how to deal with them? What have you learned about that? I for one at least did not know how to deal with people like that.

R.R.: My mother used to tell me, An answer when mild turns away rage, An answer when mild turns away rage. I grew up with an older brother who was much, much older than me and was very angry and spent a lot of his time in jealousy so my way of not provoking that was to give a mild answer. That s really all I know. Talk something down.

R.J.: Right, what I ve seen is sometimes that works and sometimes you need to actually mirror what they re doing and show them that you can do the same and sometimes in fact, most times, what works is assertiveness. So sometimes being mild and meek is useful. Sometimes being aggressive is useful back to them so they know you mean business, that you can match them, but what I find for the most part that is effective is being assertive. Being assertive means being able to look them straight in the eye and say, Listen, you don t get to talk to me like that, I m not going to accept that. Coming really firm and this firmness is the key part of what I talk about when dealing with the mind. Getting angry with it or requesting, Hey you know stop bugging me, stop chattering, please, I m tired, don t go on like this, it s not going to work, you really need to be firm and firm is not angry. Firm is not passive. Firm is literally standing your ground. Think of yourself standing with your feet wide apart, perhaps about 2 ft. apart, right? Your spine erect and you re looking with your eyes wide open, your energy coming right as if the energy is coming from your naval all the way up and out through your eyes as if you have fire beaming out of your eyes, but you re speaking very quietly, Thank you, I do not need that input anymore or I m not okay with you talking to me like that. Very firm.

R.R.: This is you saying this to your mind?

R.J.: I m talking to my own mind here just as if I bully or talk to someone who s abusive and I would say, Hey, you don t get to speak to me like that, right? Very firm but very grounded so they get the message very clear. So when your mind sees that you re in charge, you re not out of control, crazy angry or you re not there passive and begging it. Most people sit there and the mind is kind of whipping you all over the place a transfixed, hypnotized state, but their mind just raking over the coals over some mistake that they did. I m saying, my basic rule of thumb is you don t get to judge me under any circumstances, ever. I am permitted by divine will to make I was given free will. That is the first principle in the universe. That means I am permitted to make mistakes and I am going to learn from my mistakes but I don t need someone beating me up for my mistakes, especially my own mind. There s no judgement allowed. I call this house rules in my own mind, okay? Just like in your house, no one s allowed to come and throw trash all over the floor or pee on the rug, you know? It s not something humans do, okay? I understand dogs doing that but they even need to get trained, but there are certain things that aren t okay and the same way there s a code of conduct within your own mind. Until you ve established the house rules, the code of conduct for your own mind, it ll do whatever it wants to do. You ve got to be able to say to it, Hey buddy, you don t talk to me that way, okay? Back off. You don t get to call me names. You don t get to judge me. You don t get to put me down. You don t get to keep nagging away. No, sorry, not now, not ever.

R.R.: Right, I like that.

R.J.: That s the first part, being really firm. The second part is being consistent. You cannot change the behavior of a dog, a child, or your own mind if you sometimes can do something and sometimes can t. If the dog comes to the table to get food and the rule is, you re not going to get food when you come to the table, then that better be all the time. If you do it sometimes and not sometimes, the dog will come and beg even harder, the child is going to cry even louder for the candy or whatever that is. Your mind is going to torment you even more if you are sometimes are in charge and sometimes not. It s going to push the boundaries. It s going to try it s hardest. So be consistent, which means if you re going to be the boss, you re not a part-time boss, you re always the boss. Your soul, your spirit is always the boss of your mind. Think about it. Who s mind is it?

R.R.: It s mine.

R.J.: Most people believe their thoughts almost as if their mind is their God or their scripture, they believe it blindly, but I am here to say to you that you re not your mind. You re not your thoughts. You re not even your emotions. You re something beyond all of that and once you just start from that premise and then it s easy. You ll be able to take charge of it with great power and authority because you have the right to be happy and know that it s simple because it s who you are. It s not something you re going to become. Once the mind is quiet, you ll discover there s apart of you that always was incredible, perfect, beautiful. You ve been looking for it all over the world. You ve tried to dress well, look good do all the right things, so that people will like you and respect you and so that they think that you re such a great person, but the great person is actually sitting behind your mind.

R.R.: I m the observer, is that right?

R.J.: The observer part of you, yes, the observer part of you. The spirit part of you, that is the part of you that is actually flawless. Whereas your character, your personality, your everything, that has plenty of flaws in it. That part will always be messed up. It ll never be perfect and the part that is perfect, you don t have to make it so, it always was so, always will be so.

R.R.: This is great. Where does someone start?

R.J.: You start by making a decision that is irrevocable. From this moment on, I declare my authority. I have a mind. This is my mind. I am spirit, I am a spiritual being and as a spiritual being, I claim power over my mind. I start with a declaration like that.

R.R.: Okay.

R.J.: I then exercise that continuously. A lot of people tell me that continuous is crazy because that means 24/7 you have to be on guard yep you do. 24/7 you are watchful of what your mind is saying to you. Everything goes under scrutiny. Nothing is believed blindly. Everything is like, how do you know? Prove it?

R.R.: Can that get a little exhausting? I ve been told I get 60,000 thoughts and most of them are

R.J.: When you put the brakes on, they don t roll. Put the brakes on and say, Nope, I m not interested.

R.R.: What does that look like? What does somebody do? I need to break this thing.

R.J.: When you re watching T.V., you have an option to hit the mute button when the commercials come or not. A lot of folks just let the commercials roll. I don t. I will hit the mute button consistently every time. I don t want to hear the commercials.

R.R.: Does this rob you ever of any presence? Or maybe it brings you into the present.

R.J.: the moment your mind is quiet, you re in the present moment and in that present moment everything you ve been looking for, peace, love, happiness, everything is right here, that s who you are, that s what starts to shine through. It s not something you achieve or become, it s something you are.

R.R.: Okay, wow. So, I hear quieting the mind, taking your power back, and there s tools for that. When we think of tools, we think of meditation, we think of prayer, we think of reading yoga is a great way. There s all kinds of versions of everything I just mentioned. What s something someone can do tomorrow?

R.J.: You start with what I was saying and you will need to keep constantly doing this as you said. Because it is something to be done constantly, mindfulness is a very powerful technique, mindfulness you can look it up if you like, mindfulness meditation, which simply means with 100% attention and enjoyment. If you re eating, eat with full attention with what you re doing and savor your food. Savoring is my meditation. I savor everything I savor this conversation, I savor my food, I savor my shower. Everything I m doing, I extract the maximum pleasure out of it. Now pleasure is a very powerful force.

R.R.: Indeed.

R.J.: If you use pleasure in a constructive way, which is, as I m saying about savoring, you will learn to actually for your mind to become hooked on this way of living and I don t mean pleasure which comes from drinking a six-pack or pleasure that comes from any kind of addiction, I m talking about pleasure that when you slow down and start to enjoy the subtle details of that glass of wine or chocolate or food or shower or anything that you re doing a conversation you slow down and start to enjoy the person you re with, the thing you re doing or having. You start really savoring it and that to me is one of the most powerful meditations that you can have and can be done on a regular basis that makes everything you do a meditation. I don t meditate at any separate time. My meditation is life. Everything that I m doing is my meditation.

R.R.: Okay, wow. This is pretty incredible. In your practice, you obviously you teach among other things, you and I have had some conversations about other things that you re teaching are really bringing some results, can you talk about that?

R.J.: Other things such as?

R.R.: Well you and I were talking about, I think it was past life regression?

R.J.: That s right, yes. I do past life regression with people, I think that s extremely powerful because it helps us see ourselves as spiritual beings who have been on many journeys. It s not a matter of believing but it s a matter of experiencing and what happens in past life regression, you make your conscious mind quiet, we actually lead you through a process where it becomes quiet and then you get to actually see what lies within the subconscious mind comes through and what s incredible about that is that you get to see the powerful memories that are stored in your subconscious mind of previous lifetimes and the lessons you ve learned and some of those things are effecting your current life and by understanding by what happened in the past you re able to actually resolve the problems in your current life. I ve known people that have fear of let s say darkness, of water, of heights and we ll calm that by seeing what caused that in a previous life, or pain in a particular part of their body and no one is able to figure out why it s there. Those things have all cleared up, they found out they were shot in a particular part and same place where that happened or they were drowned in a particular situation and that s why that fear of water is coming up. So the moment when you understand the cause of it, the effect of experiencing in this life actually goes away. The other big benefit of past life regression is that, I find is you actually experiencing yourself between lives. You experience what it is like to be a spirit being and what it is to go into the light and what it is how we come to this world and what kind of decisions we make before we come here and we realize we aren t victims anymore. We actually planned a whole lot of this stuff that actually is going on, even the negative things. People think, Why would anybody plant that? because for the soul, all of this is learning. All of this is part of the experience. It s like a good movie. You re going to have some bad stuff that happens, right? The movie director doesn t say, Oh only good things happen in this movie, can t have bad stuff happen, that s what makes the movie exciting.

R.R.: That s part of the story.

R.J.: Yeah it s apart of the story we all have these stories with incredible things, good and bad, and learning how to actually learn from each of those bad experiences makes them go away. If you don t learn, they repeat, but if you learn, they go away and then you come to the next challenge, and the next, and next, and it s an ongoing thing. But like you said earlier, Wait a minute, I m going to have to do this all the time? All the time I have to be aware? Conscious? With my mind? and you know what? It s true, you do, but here s the caveat to that: once you start mastering it, give yourself a month. Within that time, you ll get so good at it, that it becomes natural. Imagine the day you started driving, right? Suppose you were doing a stick shift and you had to figure out the clutch, and the brake and all of that stuff and I used to get so confused with all of that. In time, it became so natural. I could drive a stick shift and eat and talk and listen to music all at the same time and not even be concerned. My body is doing it all automatically. It s the same thing that happens with your mind.

R.R.: 30 days to really experience change?

R.J.: That s right.

R.R.: Wow and if somebody is just locked down they re triggered, they re full of fear, they re scared, they just can t do this on their own, do you show people how to do this?

R.J.: If they re really in some kind of state where they are unable to cope with it, I d say go get some help. I do help a lot of people in my work as a spiritual counselor and a spiritual coach in helping them gain practical tools and learn how to calm the mind down. Once that happens, they re able to move forward and then some of these things I m talking about will be much easier to do. So if you re really are in a situation which is very difficult for you right now and you re overwhelmed with it, I suggest seeking help. You can go to my website or any other person that you feel more inclined to go to, that s fine.

R.R.: Okay. So how do people find you as this whole thing unfolds. You have books you re really passionate about this. You re working on it and delivering a lot of content. I want to follow this. Where do I go?

R.J.: You could go to one of the good ways to do that is come straight to my website and from there you can sign up. You ll be immediately into the system. You ll get my newsletter, you ll get the things I m telling you right now, you ll get them as a free download and you ll get free chapters of my book as well. My website is Rohit: R-O-H-I-T. The last part is J-U-N-E, like the month June and J-A. You ve got that background that s instilled in you and you re bringing that to Western culture and we re hungry for it. Everybody I talk to.

R.J.: And with a very contemporary approach I think that contemporary approach really helps make it very attainable and real for people here so that s the part that I think is people are going to love what I m talking about doing and I think they ll also enjoy my latest book, God You Sexy Devil, because it really takes a lot of the old spiritual concepts that religion has shoved into our heads and tears them to pieces, rips them apart, it s a conversation with God and we ll get into what I mean by that some other time.

Enjoy!

So that s Juneja it s pronounced Juneje but it s written as J-U-N-E-J-A right? .com and you ll find me there or type in God You Sexy Devil it ll lead you there, too. godyousexydevil.com will take you there.

R.R.: I will include that in the show notes and where people can find you, and a bio, and are you on Facebook as well?

R.J.: I m on Facebook as well. spiritual counselor. I know that Google brings me right up when people type spiritual counselor San Diego find me right away. Past life regressions San Diego, they find me right away. I m right on top.

R.R.: That s brilliant. We ve learned a lot today and I m going to put our notes on the show so people can find you and reach out to you. It s been a real pleasure. I m so excited that you agreed to do this because when I first met you, we met by phone, through mutual friends, and we resonated immediately and then I finally had a chance to meet you here in person and you re just full of light and love and you ve just kept this aura about you that s just like, I gotta hang with this guy, I gotta spend some time with this cat, and I think people are really understanding the wisdom that comes from Eastern, I m going to say religions or practices, Eastern spirituality, lets say that, because it s really palatable right now.

R.R.: I m glad you say that because I want you back, I want you back on the show, I hope you ll do me that honor, because I know people are going to want to know and hear from you more and it s been a real pleasure.

R.J.: If they want to know where to find it, it s on Amazon. The book. It s on Amazon. It s $2.99 at this time and both my books in fact, so they can find them there, Loving Soulfully and the other one is God You Sexy Devil.

R.R.: $2.99?! Oh my God.

R.J.: That s it. I want it to be available to everyone that s the kindle version so they can read on their computer, their phone or iPad or whatever.

R.R.: Brilliant. I ll include the notes and the links to your books as well. Books on Amazon. Well, man, what a pleasure, Rohit Juneja. junta.com. Thank you for being on the show and blessing us with this. You re a brilliant man and I really look forward to hearing more about your journey.

R.J.: Bye.
