Artist Selma Selman about art, resistance, family and her foundation for education of Roma girls "Get the Heck to school"

I don't present myself as a Romnia, as a European, I am part of the whole universe, says the young artist Selma Selman. She takes us into her universe of art and resistance. She explains to us how she turned her family members into performers, and how she increased the rate of Roma girls attending school in her home village in Bosnia-Herzegovina from 15 to 95%, and why they call her "Tito" there. And even if she is a realist, she reveals her utopia to us. Our guest: Selma Selman is an artist from Bosnia and Herzegovina, currently living in New York and Bihac. She earned her Bachelor of Fine Arts from Banja Luka University’s Department of Painting graduated at Syracuse University New York with a Master of Fine Arts in Transmedia, Visual and Performing Arts. She has participated in many solo and group exhibitions in the USA and Europe, won prizes and is a regular artist in residence somewhere in the world. Selma is also the founder of the organization ”Get The Heck To School” which aims to empower Roma girls. www.selmanselma.com

I don’t present myself as a Romnia, as a European, I am part of the whole universe, sagt die junge Künstlerin Selma Selman.
