In this 2 part episode, Corian and Dave discuss the truth about living in an RV full time. The reality is, when living in an RV full time does not mean you are "camping" every day of your life.
Yes, we enjoy the outdoors and a more simplistic lifestyle (depending on who you talk to), but the reality is, far too many people think living in their RV will bring them the same "weekend camping trip" on the daily.
Living in an RV takes patience, lots of work and careful planning. You also have to be aware that most of the amenities you are used to wont be readily available!
Things to consider:

  • Try to make your RV as comfortable as possible
  • Bring some of the amenities with you; coffee press, cooking appliances etc
  • Try to have multiple uses for each item you have
  • You may not be having camp fires every night
  • Try to save money where you can; invest in an ice maker
  • know your RV unit and how to maintain it (watch YouTube videos)
  • Understand things will break, and this is ok!
  • Prepare for the elements (know where you are going and the type of climate)
  • Before you arrive at a place, do some research on grocery stores and where you can get supplies (you can also join Facebook Groups and ask questions about a specific area).
  • Most of all, relax, take a deep breath and enjoy - learn to roll with the punches!

See you next week as we discuss "RV etiquette"
