What is Up SatsCrew,
Recessions are like controlled burns where they may be uncomfortable to have at first, but it is a necessity for stronger and more long-term sustainable growth.
With the extreme heating up of the economy over the past several years, we are overdue for a reset back to reality. In today's podcast, I go over the tightening economic conditions impacting many important companies such as Nike, Starbucks, and more. Specifically, I cover:

  • Economic conditions tightening with Nike, Consumer Discretionary, Fast Food & More
  • People wearing more based clothing (especially Younger Generations)
  • Walgreens, Nike, Starbucks, Rubios, Red Lobster, and Redbox have all been on the chopping block
  • This is done out of necessity due to hard times
  • This is also done out of the need to want to invest more money into hard assets
  • Picture of Nike inventory just overflowing, overpriced swoosh logo and products
  • The younger generation doesn’t want the logos it is tacky and not subtle
  • For quality it may make sense, but often these garments are made in the same country, under similar conditions for pennies on the dollar
  • Hard times will make one reconsider how they are allocating their limited life energy to the things that matter
  • Hard times will make those who do have savings and capital, will want to allocate to products that are hard and aren’t being debased from underneath them
  • The move away from name brands and to things that are functional and have utility
  • Sometimes the name brand isn’t even better (i.e. Mcdonald's Burger vs. Regular Cooked Burger on the Grill)
  • In a Recession, let’s be prepared to spend sensibly and on the things that matter and allocate to scarce assets and not spend on unnecessary products

Do you view a recession as a net positive? Will we see softening to the point where we can return to prosperity again? I would love to hear everyone's thoughts!
Best Regards,

SatsMate
