A study describes how a wild orangutang in Inodesia heals a facial wound with the help of a plant. This was observed by a team of researchers from the Max Planck Institute. The first author of the study is Dr Isabell Laumer. She is a cognitive biologist and primatologist. For more than 10 years, she has been intensively involved with great apes and parrots, researching physical and social cognition. In this interview, she explains what this observation means. - Eine Studie beschreibt, wie ein wild lebender Orang-Utang in Inodesien eine Gesichtswunde mithilfe einer Pflanze heilt. Das wurde von einem Forscherteam des Max-Planck-Insituts beobachtet. Die Erstautorin der Studie ist Frau Dr. Isabell Laumer. Sie ist Kognitionsbiologin und Primatologin.
