We are committed to becoming a multi-generational, multi-ethnic, multiplying movement of Christ followers, equipping and empowering our kids and students to not only be the church of tomorrow, but the church of today.

Episode Description: Jessica B. Harris may have been born and raised in New York City, but she has Tennessee roots through her father and has spent much of her life split between homes in the Northeast and the South – specifically New Orleans. For more than fifty years, she has been a college professor, a writer, and a lecturer, and her many books have earned her a reputation as an authority on food of the African Diaspora, as well as a lifetime achievement award from the James Beard Foundation. A few years back, Netflix adapted her book, High on the Hog: A Culinary Journey from Africa to America , into a 4 part docuseries. And I’m very proud to say that she’s a longtime contributor to Southern Living with a regular column called The Welcome Table. This episode was recorded in the Southern Living Birmingham studios, and Sid and Jessica talked about her mother’s signature mac and cheese, the cast-iron skillet she’d be sure to save if ever her house were on fire, and her dear friend, the late New Orleans chef Leah Chase. Basically, there has got to be a change. If you are the same today as you were before Jesus, then you need to repent and get things right with God.

God wants to give you a sound mind. A mind that is at peace with God, a mind that is focused on Him, and not the world. Are you ready to receive that mind today?
Jesus called us to walk in love. Unfortunately the world doesn’t have the proper biblical definition of love. Love involves doing things that many don’t associate with love. Things like judgement, like sharing Jesus.
God gives us power to do several things, including living for Him in this lost world. In fact, Jesus prayers that God will protect us from this evil world. We need to start using the power that God has given us to show Him to a lost and hurting world.
There have been posts on social media lately that has caused me to scratch my head and say “huh?” One recently was someone posted that we need to read Ephesians 5:14, this verse proves that the Bible is “woke.” Friends, this kind of false teaching is all over our world today. We must make sure we walk right in this world, we need to awaken from our sleep and pull our heads out of the sand. By the way, Ephesians 5:14 is calling us to awaken out of our sleep and start living in the light of God.…
Today, we are going to look at a trial example. Trials are a part of life, and I will review what a trial is. I will also look at a real life example of someone who gone through a trial, and how they handled it.
Today, we are looking at a real life example of temptation. David and Bathsheba. Be sure to listen and see how David got carried away into sin, and find out what the consequences of that sin was.
Today we are looking at trials. You know, those things of life that none of us wants. In James 1, we are told how we should respond to those times of trials. When your faith gets tested, how do you respond?
Adam & Eve failed theirs. Jesus passed His. Today, we look at temptations. Find out where temptations come from and what makes them tick, but also where Adam and Eve fell short. Tune in and learn how to watch out for temptations.
What does it mean to be set apart in a modern world, that is my topic for today. We live in a world where everyone is encouraged to do what they please, not matter the consequences. The Bible paints a different picture. One where God desires us to be holy, to be set apart, not following the things the world chases after. This episode will challenge your way of living in our modern world.…
We are told throughout Scripture the importance of prayer. We taught how to pray and how not to pray. But, the question I want to pose to you today is: Do you expect anything out of prayer. In Acts 12, we read about Peter being thrown in prison, and the church praying consistently for him. When Peter shows up at the door, the people praying for him first don’t believe it’s actually him, then are astonished at the sight. Listen to this episode, and take time to look at your prayer life and prayer habits, and start praying the way Jesus would want us to pray-expectantly.…
Todays episode teaches us what True Revival is. I will give you a hint-true revival runs on the timetable of God, not mans timetable. We will discuss the definition of revival and look at some examples of revival in the Bible.
Sometimes we get a little cold. I don’t mean cold as in a lack of heat. I mean cold as in our faith grows cold. When that happens, it usually means that there is something (sin) blocking our relationship with Jesus. In this episode, we look at what it means to be revived and what is essential to being revived.…
