(Editor's Note: The sound quality on Jake's microphone suffers a bit in this episode. The truth is our mixer was dying a slow death, but we didn't realize that until a few more episodes had gone by. We apologize for the inconvenience.)
If you're feeling the chill of winter setting in this holiday season, take an imaginary desert trip on a magic carpet and listen to Becky and Jake's interpretive take on Disney's Aladdin: The Return of Jafar. In one of the first animated direct-to-video sequels for good ol' Disney Corp., we find Aladdin and company chilling in Agrabah, foiling thieves and kindling romances with full transparency. But, out in the desert, from under the dunes, an evil vizier-turned genie is fighting his way back from the Cave of Wonders with vengeance as his ultimate goal. And, to make matters worse, he'll have to do it without his wise-cracking, singing parrot. But that's no problem. Jafar will pick up a new goon in the form of a middle-aged man down on his luck with self-esteem issues; it's Jason Alexander reprising his role as the relatable thief, George Costanza. Together, they'll put the squeeze on Aladdin and his companions, making their revenge the best kind of dish—a cold one. And while you're listening, keep an ear out for a series of bell jingles throughout the episode, mostly when Becky and Jake are trying to talk. It's another round of musical collar cameos by Sammy the cat, and for this time of year, it's strangely appropriate.
Have a happy and safe holiday season from all of us here at the Seen on the Small Screen Podcast!
