This week, Carsten & Stephen take a look at some sweat-soaked movies set in desolate deserts, starting with the recent John Michael McDonagh (Calvary, The Guard) film The Forgiven with Ralph Fiennes and Jessica Chastain as a jaded aristocratic couple whose lives are thrown into turmoil when a tragic accident on the way to a decadent desert mansion housewarming party becomes a catalyst for change in more ways than one, and the Iranian family odyssey Hit the Road, the directorial debut by Panah Panahi, son of firebrand filmmaker Jafar Panahi. Along the way we revisit The English Patient, Ice Cold in Alex, The Passenger and not one but two Flight of the Phoenixes. Phoenixi? Anyway, there's one with James Stewart and another one with Dennis Quaid.
