From fit and vibrant to total disintegration in the blink of an eye is certainly an extreme unravelling.

At aged 46, fit and vibrant Marie Kimber woke one morning to find she couldn't walk. Deteriorating rapidly, she was subsequently diagnosed with the highly debilitating illness known as Guillain Barre Syndrome and spent the next seven weeks totally paralysed in Intensive Care, kept alive by drugs and machines.

After a further two months in rehabilitation, she wheeled her wheelchair out of hospital to contend with life as a shadow of her former self. Ensuing Menopause added more doubts and complications to her already scarred self-esteem. When at the point of lying on the floor in tears, aching with unhappiness, she realised she had to make a change.

So she had to unravel her life in a different way. Unravel and rebuild.

She went on a journey of transformation from dull, disinterested and disintegrated to vibrant and sassy. She used her illness as a blessing; a wake-up call that eludes the less fortunate. She closed the door to death and opened the door to life.

She now lives her best life and shares her journey of discovery with other middle aged women. Marie compliments this with travel writing, inspirational speaking, mentorships and hosting small group ladies only tours overseas, she uses her life experiences to lead other women to confidence and curiosity.

Her transformational journey is an inspiration for all about how to come back from the edge of death and live a vibrant, fulfilling life.
