Hi Everyone! For this week's episode we were delighted to have Tom Frangione join us! Tom is the host and principal DJ on The Beatles Channel on SiriusXM (Channel 18)! He is also a veteran staffer at the Fest For Beatles Fans. In the Fall of 2022 Tom interviewed Sir Paul himself! to commemorate the 40th Anniversary release of Tug Of War. Inside E272, Tom gives us the backstory of how this incredible-life changing opportunity came to be! If you aren't a subscriber to SiriusXM, you should be! They offer many unique programs with multiple hosts and talking points. It's not just a Beatles channel on shuffle! We previously had Caitlin Larkin on a few years back and we were honoured that Tom gave us some of his time to share some of the insight on how the channel works and the evolution of it. For our final show of January 2025 we are happy to present our friends Allan Kozinn and Adrian Sinclair as we discuss in depth their second volume of The McCartney Legacy covering the periods January 1974-January 1980. We had them on in December to celebrate the publication of the book. Now we've had a chance to read it and we go over our favourite sections of the book and revelations that were discovered. Allan and Adrian give us insight on some of the key people that were helpful with their research and writing for Volume 2. Support this book! and help us get Volume 3 and beyond! They will also be at the Fest in March in Jersey City! Peace! Andy & Tom…

Happy Weekend 2Legs Faithful! Ringo might be getting all the headlines this week (and rightly so, but the Macca Train keeps rolling along!). A topic oft discussed in general but never tackled by us! On this week's show Andy and Tom list their Top 10 favourite Macca Collaborations over the years. We define "Collaboration" as: A song Paul wrote for someone else, someone else's song he sang/played on, a song of his that he did with someone else. Shoutout and appreciation to friend Kyle Hand for the suggested topic! We had some obvious choices but we both had some choices that were surprises to us both! What say you? Who are your Top 10 Macca Collabs over the years? Newer? Older? Well known? Not so well known? Let us know Andy & Tom…

Happy New Year All! We start 2025 with a lively discussion with none other than our friend Dr. Kenneth Womack, (Author and Professor of English/Music at Monmouth University). Ken, typically is writing/lecturing strictly on The Beatles but he is also a huge Wings fan. In this episode, we trace Ken's fandom with Paul/Wings and also simultaneously learning The Beatles catalog at the same time in the late 1970s which sounds pretty Fab! We navigate our discussion throughout the main Wings canon of albums, hear some stories about current students views on The Beatles, how younger people prefer physical media over digital (Win!) and more. Lastly, Ken gives us an update on the Mal Evans Diaries project expected this year and another big surprise! See you at the Fest in March Ken! Peace! Andy and Tom…

Well we made it! Another year down! 2024 certainly had it's share of major Macca/Beatles/Solo releases. For our final episode of the year, Andy and Tom recap the year that was for Macca. Releases (Underdubbed/OHC/SHM's) Books/Tours/Notable Tributes and we pick our favourite moments of the year. (Kinda easy choice for Andy this year! LOL). We also look at what could be 'Coming Up' for 2025 for Paul! What was your Top Macca Related Release for 2024? Wish list for 2025? Let us know in the comments! Thank you for our BEST year yet ever for 2Legs! Your support of our show really took us to meeting new friends, traveling to new locations all in love of our guy - James Paul McCartney Rock On 2025! Now And Then - One Year On. Hard to believe that fact but it's here. Joining Andy and Tom (as he did a year ago upon release) again is Mitch Axelrod for Episode 265. Mitch is the author of Beatletoons , Co-Host of the "Fab 4 Free 4 All" Podcast and excellent FB group. Mitch also helped produce a video on the popular channel Parlogram about the Beatles US cartoons. As Mitch wrote the book - it was an excellent choice. Congrats! Link is below. We tackled A LOT in this episode. How does Mitch feel the song sounds a year later? Does it have staying power? It's inclusion now in Paul's live shows. It's legacy, how it will stand next to 'Free As A Bird', 'Real Love', all of it. We discuss recent Beatles News, Beatles Marketing Strategies & Product, (Gnomes & Cubes Oh My!) and towards the end Mitch gives us HIS top 10 Worst Solo Paul songs. (A show we did a few weeks back but Mitch was unable to join). We had a very fun and enjoyable chat (as we always do with Mitch!) How do you feel about N&T one year later? The same? Stronger? Weaker? Welcome To November 2Legs Listeners! For our first new show of the month we revisit a series we did a few weeks back called "Divided Albums." This time we chose that oft-neglected and overlooked Spring 1976 LP Wings at The Speed of Sound . This album routinely ranks pretty low in the Macca/Wings canon by most fans/critics because of its paint by numbers democratic approach. Despite having two huge hit singles in 'Silly Love Songs' (US #1) and 'Let 'Em In' (US #3). Which makes the album kind of an anomaly in his career. We both think it's a fine album but in the career of Paul McCartney some albums will naturally outshine others. Does it divide the fanbase? Probably. How do you rank the tracks and the album overall? Let us know in the comments! Peace! Andy and Tom…

At long last we finally got around to recording this one! Author and Music Journalist Mr. Eoghan Lyng (Culture Sonar/Stripped), U2 On Track , George Harrison In The 1970s , joins Andy and Tom for Episode 261. In Part III of the Paul and George relationship we examine their mainly George's icy comments directed at Paul between the years 1982 and 1988. A lot happened during this interval of time. Yoko, George and Ringo discovered the infamous "McCartney Clause" in 1983 setting off a series of lawsuits which ultimately resulted in Paul not attending the Beatles 1988 Induction to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. George's comments on Broad Street, George's continued projects with HandMade Films as well as his commercial success with Cloud Nine are discussed in this episode with Eoghan. We will likely wrap up this series sometime in 2025 with a fourth and final installment which will carry us through the 1990s, Anthology, George's untimely passing in 2001, culminating with the celebration of life that was/is the Concert For George in November 2002. Eoghan's Link: Peace Andy & Tom…

Hi! This week Andy and Tom are very pleased to have Super Fan "Dino V" join us for a chat about the November 2001 release of Driving Rain . It's an album that gets a lot of chat on McCartney fan pages/sites - mostly negative. We contextualise the time period from whence it came. Discuss reasons why it gets the bad rap it has received 23 years on since it's release. 'Freedom', 9/11, The Heather factor. Too long of a record. All these points and more are discussed! It was an album that we (Andy & Tom) were majorly excited for in 2001 when it came out. But it hasn't aged well with later day epics such as Chaos and Creation In The Backyard , Memory Almost Full , Electric Arguments and New. Dino also gives us a background into his super Macca fandom. (He's truly hardcore! Having met Paul & Linda on several occasions). Having chats like this are good because it does give us a reason to go back and listen and see if our opinions have changed with time or have stayed the same. Thoughts on Driving Rain ? Let us know in the comments! Peace Andy & Tom…

We as Macca fans are really in the golden age of books being published that just focus solely on the man's solo career. We waited decades for it but over the last 10 + years we have been spoiled. (Perasi, Kozinn/Sinclair, Blaney, Montgomery, Benitez, Allan) etc. Joining us for E257 is Ian Derbyshire. He is the author of the new book Macca In The Long Noughties: Paul McCartney tracks, life and tours 1998-2009 . Ian tells Andy and Tom what inspired him to focus on this specific period and why we feel it's a welcome addition to the library. It's an interesting period because it of course journeys a life without Linda. The book is not just all music either. There are personal stories included here, the Heather Mills era covered quite extensively. A very detailed approach on the tours during this era particularly the European gigs. Among other things, Ian chronicles public appearances Paul made, a very nice chronology to open each year. A quick and enjoyable read about a "recent" era in Macca-World. Ian started a thread on the Hoffman Forums polling fans which was the best Macca record during this era. Link is here. Vote! Amazon Link for Ian's book (also available in Kindle): We thank Ian for his work and hope you all enjoy it as well! Andy & Tom…

Hello All! We're back with a traditional episode this week. This time diving back into the Interview Archives (as we've done in the past) with Paul (& Linda's) appearance from November 1987 on the UK BBC1 Programme Wogan , hosted by Terry Wogan. We've re-edited in the performances of 'Jet', 'Once Upon A Long Ago' and 'Listen To What The Man Said' as the interview on YouTube had these cut. Paul had made appearances on Wogan in the past, (1986) and made future appearances in 1989 and 1990. The purpose of this visit was to continue to the heavy promotional blitz he was doing at the time to promote All The Best! which was already certified platinum in the UK by this time. You'll see Terry present him with a gift of it. We also discuss the recent additions to the GOT BACK tour and overall shows for the fall. Exciting times for Macca fans! We hope you're all doing well. Summer is here! Did you watch this episode live when it premiered? Let us know! Peace Andy & Tom…

We are very happy to have one of the distinguished authors/researchers/film editor Adrian Sinclair back on 2Legs this week. Adrian is the co-author of the celebrated The McCartney Legacy Volume 1 1969-73 , along with Allan Kozinn. Adrian joins Andy and Tom as he gives an overview of this period in Wings history. Starting with the seeds of the era in during the infamous trip to Nashville in the Summer of 1974, then Geoff Britton and Jimmy McCulloch joining before heading back to London and Abbey Road where One Hand Clapping was planned to be filmed and released. The film was directed by David Litchfield but has remained on the shelf but snippets have been officially released most recently on the Archive Edition of Band On The Run (Nov. 2010). Adrian tells us about meeting David Litchfield and we are also happy to include a short soundbite of an interview he conducted with Litchfield during 2018. All this on the heels of One Hand Clapping the soundtrack album which is due out next week on the 14th June. We hope this episode gears you up even more for the release. Volume 2 of the McCartney Legacy is expected to be released on 10th December 2024. We thank Adrian for his time and hope you enjoy it! Andy and Tom…

We've got some friends joining us this week! In June 2007 Andy, Tom & James Liverani and Joe Mantineo all were lucky enough to attend the "Secret Gig" Promotional Show for Memory Almost Full at the Highline Ballroom in NYC. Tom, James, and Joe along with Andy recount their Memories (not almost full) about this epic concert, celebrities who attended, and the whole experience which is now 17 years ago which is absurd. Thank you Tom, James and Joe for sharing your stories and experiences. Anyone else out there fortunate enough to be at this show with us? Let us know! Peace Andy and Tom James' link playing with Paul:…

We dive back into the Beatles for this episode because hello how could we ignore the first commercial world wide home video release of Let It Be . Yes we all had the boots, the laserdiscs, the VHS copies from the rental stores we copied as kids, but now we have it fully restored FINALLY. In superior video and audio quality. Streaming now on Disney + Michael Lindsay Hogg's original film has seen the light of day with the technical assistance of Peter Jackson and his team in New Zealand we can now "Let It Be". It's been a hectic April! New Ringo EP, One Hand Clapping announced this past week, RSD and now finally a "new" Beatles related text has been published. All You Need Is Love: The Beatles In Their Own Words is a new book of interview transcripts conducted by long time Beatles associate Peter Brown and his co-author Steven Gaines. These interviews were conducted between 1979 and 1981 with all then surviving members of the Beatles and their entourage which formed the basis for their 1983 controversial "tell all" book The Love You Make: An Insider's Story on The Beatles . One of the more significant interviews is the one that Paul gave for the book. Which we think took place sometime in 1980 (There are no dates given for the interviews but it was certainly before December 1980 as he refers to John in the present. Much of the interview questions centered around the breakup and his relationships with Brian, John, Yoko and Linda. Have you picked it up yet? Thoughts? Let us know! Peace Andy & Tom…

Calling all Bootleg Fans! It's like Christmas in April! Recent boots have surfaced (don't ask us where to find them!), stemming from the Geoff Emerick Estate sale which includes many Rough Mixes of BOTR material as well as later Wings material. These are on the Misterclaudel and HMC labels. We have only heard the Misterclaudel as of this recording. We would also like to give a special shout out to Hoffman/Beatles forum member "mikecarrea" who always has the inside scoop on this stuff and has painstakingly broken down the differences between the two. His analysis can be found here . We discuss the potential use of AI on some of these tracks. In favour of it or not? Have you heard any of these yet? Peace, Andy & Tom (PS - We do not condone the purchasing of bootlegs whatsoever).…

We are very proud to announce the start of a recurring monthly series (which will be a regular episode) titled Iconic Song Series. We will pick one Classic McCartney solo track and once a month we will be joined by Allan Kozinn and (eventually) Adrian Sinclair. Co-Authors of the celebrated The McCartney Legacy. By now all followers of our show and McCartney fans in general know that Volume 2 of their book has been announced and scheduled for a 10 December release with pre-orders available now on Amazon . We were beyond happy that Allan and Adrian were willing to join us for a recurring show on 2Legs. And this topic lends itself well. For the first installment we chose 1970's 'Maybe I'm Amazed' from Paul's first solo album McCartney. We discuss historical significance, where Paul was at the time (personally and professionally), lyrical meaning, track by track (analysis). (As in number of tracks used to make the record.). It's well known that Paul recorded much of McCartney at home over on Cavendish Avenue. But for what is essentially one of if not his best known solo song Paul recorded this at E.M.I. These and all the other tiny details we all love to learn about are included in this episode! We thank Allan and Adrian for joining us for this series and we look forward to doing more! Suggestions? Let us know or email us! All The Best! Andy and Tom…
