Kindness isn't trendy nor a hot topic. We think about it, but it's not something we strive to do for ourselves. That is unfortunate because kindness doesn't just help the people around us; it helps you too.

If you are interested in simple ways to invite kindness in your life, consider these random acts of kindness.

1. Give yourself a genuine compliment

This will boost your mood and it will get your day start on a positive way. It might feel awkward, to begin with, but it will become second nature eventually.

2. Become your own Charity

Create a purposeful fund for your dreams, objectives, or goals. The best way to commit to you as a charity is to do save the money automatically before your money hit your account, just like you would do a bill or paying your tithe.

3. Volunteer your time for your own project

If you don't have extra money, do you have an extra hour? Volunteering your time can be just as effective as a charitable donation. Not only are you helping people in need, but you are also getting social interaction. You might even learn something new or make a connection.

4. Leave positive comments for yourself around the house

As you will post or say something positive to someone else. Use these posts or comments for you. Use sticky notes with positive comments or quotes to yourself. Take a week, and only say positive comments to yourself using sticky notes or your phone. See how you feel after that week. I bet you keep doing it!

5. Accept help from a supportive friend or family

Is there someone in your life who can help you? Go ahead and accept that offer. Reach out with a call or a text and ask for help if you need anything. Sometimes, that gesture alone makes a world of difference.
