'Fact is limiting...perspective is everything' (Tracy DW)

Welcome to this episode where Tracy DW shares her reflections about what she has learnt through the process of planning her 'Lets Go for a Walk' learning program.

She promotes discussion about how educational practitioners can best exploit resources and real life experiences in order to achieve more diverse content in history lessons and during Black History Month that is both relevant and accessible.

Tracy also uses her experience to test her strapline ('history is a matter of fact...or perspective?') as well as explore the argument about factual bias in the history curriculum and whether practitioners are doing enough to create opportunities to address this factual bias through uncovering 'untold' stories that can create a balance of perspective as well as equal representation when exploring the past.

If you're an educational practitioner or just have an interest in history and education, feel free to comment below and share approaches that you have used to promote a more diverse curriculum in your educational setting.

Feel free to contact Tracy at info@storiestobetolled.com and give your comments and feedback.

Through her podcasts, Tracy DW promotes a more global approach to understanding history and invites you to share her learning journey about Britain's colonial past. She asks the question 'History is...a matter of fact or perspective?' and invites you as the listener to explore possible answers.
