Manage episode 315494449 series 2905310
“We are all connected. This is globalisation. We need to have a more contextual approach. Even when we make a little play, we cannot talk about the individual topic without thinking about which kind of society this individual is living in.”
Bárbara Santos is a Brazilian director, author, performer, activist and the artistic director of KURINGA in Berlin, where she is currently based. For twenty years, Bárbara worked alongside Augusto Boal, who the creator of Theatre of the Oppressed.
Through adventuring in theatre and performance, Bárbara accompanies her participants on voyages that uncover the connection between personal experiences and societal structures in a globalised world. This process empowers people who are disadvantaged to find ways to act and improve their situations.
Today, we meet virtually with Bárbara in her home city, Rio de Janeiro in Brazil. We hope that you enjoy this inspiring and fascinating conversation as much as we did.
