Easter Sunday is the most joyful celebration in the Christian faith: the resurrection of Jesus. Death has been defeated, and hope is restored. The empty tomb declares that Jesus is alive, and because he lives, we also have eternal life. Take some time now to reflect on the significance of the resurrection — it’s the foundation of our faith. In the power of the resurrection we are reconciled to God, restored in relationship with our fellow man, and called to declare redemption and reconciliation to the world around us. We can live in the victory of Christ's resurrection and share the good news with others.…

We have been looking at the ‘8 Days That Changed The World’. The 8 days that culminate with Easter Sunday. We are going to be asking ourselves to consider what it might mean if the Easter accounts are true. What it might mean if Jesus really did rise from the dead, and what does that mean for our world today?…

Holy Saturday is a day of waiting. The disciples and followers of Jesus were in a place of uncertainty, grief, and confusion. The body of Jesus lay in the tomb, and it seemed as though all hope was lost. But even in the silence and waiting, God was at work. As we wait for God to break in in resurrection power, consider other areas of your life where you are still waiting for God to break in. Commit to trust in God again for these areas and ask for fresh faith to believe in his promises and be expectant of his power.…

On Good Friday, we reflect on the ultimate sacrifice of Jesus on the cross. When he declared, "It is finished," he meant that the work of salvation was complete. Jesus bore the weight of our sin, took the punishment that we deserved, and offered himself as the perfect sacrifice.

Maundy Thursday commemorates the Last Supper, where Jesus washed his disciples' feet, teaching them the way of humble loving service. The act of washing feet was reserved for the lowest servant, but Jesus, their Lord, did it to demonstrate that true greatness comes through serving others. He was not ashamed to take off clothing, get down on the floor and wash the dirty feet of those he loved. Take a moment now to consider how God is calling you to love other around you through humbled service. Let’s pause and ask the Holy Spirit to speak to us……

Today we remember the woman who anointed Jesus with expensive perfume. Her act of worship was costly, but it was an expression of deep love and devotion. Jesus valued her offering, not because of its material worth, but because of her heart. Are there areas in your life where God is calling you to give sacrificially in love and worship? How can you honour him with your time, talents, and treasure? What would living as a spiritual sacrifice look like for you today?…

In our verse today, Jesus teaches the greatest commandment: to love God fully and love our neighbours as ourselves. Love is the essence of the Christian faith. Take some time now to reflect on your relationship with God and how you express love toward others. What does it mean for you to love the Lord with your whole heart, soul, and mind? As we pray, ask God to help you grow in love for him and others.…

In today’s verse we see Jesus cleansing the temple, showing his zeal for true worship. The temple was meant to be a place of prayer and communion with God, but it had become corrupted. Today, let’s take some time to examine our hearts and lives. Are there areas where we need Jesus to come and cleanse? May we allow him to restore our focus to what truly matters — a relationship with God.…

On Palm Sunday, we remember the triumphal entry of Jesus into Jerusalem, where the crowds shouted, "Hosanna!" – literally ‘God saves!’ They celebrated him as the King, but many misunderstood the kind of king he was. Jesus came not as a conquering ruler, but as a humble servant, bringing peace. Take a moment now to reflect on the nature of his kingship — one of humility and self-sacrifice. Are we willing to receive him not as the king we expect, but as the king he truly is?…

We will look at five corporate applications of God’s better story for community: Marriage, Singleness, Friendship, Biblical integrity, and Worship. We are starting to unpack what God desires for his community – his church – in the world. How do we continue to build a community which is inclusive and welcoming to all whilst holding on to God’s better story when it comes to identity, sex, sexuality, and gender? How do we continue to build a community that is biblically orthodox and radically inclusive?…

Our existence as two sexes is central to our image bearing. We have the freedom to express our masculinity and femininity in culturally sensitive ways across a very wide bandwidth. But not to mask it. Distinctions in role are limited to the church and the family – and only work when they reflect the sacrifice, honour, and love displayed within Trinity. We are to honour, serve and help one another. We need one another.…

There’s certainly a lot of sex in the Bible. There are lists of don’ts as well as many bad examples to learn from, such as the dysfunctional family caused by Jacob’s polygamy, the mess caused by Abraham’s rape of Hagar, David’s adultery of Bathsheba. But there are also many positive stories about romance, relationships, weddings, pregnancies, and children. In fact, the Bible's mega narrative starts with a marriage between Adam and Eve and ends with a wedding between Jesus, the bridegroom, and his Church, the bride.…

Scripture is clear, my identity is not in my relational status, my sexuality, my gender, my profession, my ministry, or my position in society. My identity is in God. An identity based on my culture will always be flawed because every culture has been infected by the power and brokenness of sin. An identity based on my internal dialogue and emotion will always be flawed because I am flawed – loved by God but flawed – if I base my identity on my emotion and my thoughts, it will change with the tide. But an identity based on what God says about me is eternal!…

We are recapping and refreshing ourselves in the things that Paul tells us to eagerly desire; namely Spiritual Gifts. We spent time looking at this topic in our Eagerly Desire series and then in our series through 1 Corinthians. So we're going to recap by asking and answering a few questions: 1 - What is a spiritual gift and Why does God give them to the Church? 2 - What are the spiritual gifts (as seen in the New Testament)? 3 - How do we stir our desire for the gifts?…

When Jesus looks at His Church, He is able to view it in 3 ways – eternally, globally, and locally. The purposes and the promises of God will encourage us to have a growing hope and anticipation for the Church. But as we partake in something incredibly local and often ordinary looking; it can be very easy to overlook the greatness and beauty of it, because of its apparent simplicity. Belonging to a local Church connects us to something that is eternal and global.…

Church is the body of people who belong to Jesus. Church is not a building, contrary to what many people think. Your church family might have a building where you meet, but church is people, a body of people who belong to and follow Jesus. You might have heard it said that you're not a Christian just because you go to church. And that is true, and important to know - you're not automatically a Christian simply because you go to a church service on a Sunday.…

We live in two kingdoms – the Kingdom of God and the dominion of darkness ruled by Satan whom Jesus has defeated on the cross. We are engaged in a war as the army of God. We are advancing God’s Kingdom and taking territory. Don’t be fearful, the devil is powerful but nothing against the power of God. The devil can’t read our minds but can listen to what we say about ourselves, God, and others. He sows division. Deception by its nature is hard to spot.…

Generosity reveals God's character. He is a generous God, doing more than we could ask or imagine (Ephesians 2). For God so loved the world that He GAVE. When we choose to be generous, we cooperate with the work of the Holy Spirit as He transforms us from one degree of Glory into another. As believers, we know that the Holy Spirit is constantly at work within us, transforming us into the likeness of Christ. When we choose to be generous, we are keeping in step with the Holy Spirit in His work. We might say we want to be more like Jesus - being generous accelerates that process.…

If you throw a stone into water, you see ripples starting at the centre of where the stone hits the water. That is how the Kingdom life works. Understand some wonderful, foundational truths about what it means to be a Christian: In Christ, you are a new creation (our dirty clothes exchanged for his clean clothes), you are a child of God (you have a new birth certificate). You are no longer under law (like a spirit level), but grace, and that grace can help you live victoriously (trophy). Grasp these truths, get them deep into your thinking – it may take some effort – and they will totally transform your life.…

Foundations are important. If we are going to build we need to pay a lot of attention to them. It is always tempting to rush on but you will regret it. This is the same with the Christian life. Some key principles are in place at the start. Been a Christian for a while? Sometimes a bit of underpinning is timely. In the Book of Acts, Peter’s answer is foundational for all of us. Just like a chair needs four legs, he identifies 4 things that need to be in place: 1. Repentance – I need saving. 2. Faith in Jesus – Jesus can save me. 3. Baptism in Water – Jesus is my Lord. 4. Receiving the Holy Spirit – I need his power.…

Fasting on the day of atonement reminded the people of their dependence on God. We need to remind ourselves of that dependence. Our need for food means that when we fast, we do get hungry. That hunger reminds us of how dependent we are on God. When we are well fed, we can feel very powerful and independent. Hunger quickly reveals we are not as together as we think we are and we are quickly reminded of my desperate need of grace. Fasting deals a death blow to arrogance and pride and throws us back on God’s faithfulness.…

Joy is not happiness – we will say in this season “Happy Christmas” but we are aware that for many around us, it is not a happy season. But it is a season of Joy. True Joy resides not in our circumstances but in God. In the birth of Jesus, the Joy of the Lord breaks into our world, for the Joy set before him Christ endured the cross (Hebrews 12), in the return of Christ Joy will break out as all fear, pain, and grief is ended. It is joy in the Lord which enables praise and worship amid the realities of life. Our praise is not dependent on our circumstances but on the character and faithfulness of our God.…

We live in a violent and war-torn world, from the breakdown of peace in the family to international conflicts, we need more peace in our lives. Biblical peace, shalom, relates to the presence of God, more than the absence of conflict. Jesus is described as the Prince of Peace and encourages us to be peacemakers. But what does that look like practically?…
