'You are just being emotional' - It is far too often reported that women feel judged when they speak up about their mental health struggles. So what can you do when a female friend opens up? In this podcast, headspace Adelaide volunteers Maiah Stewardson, Steph Hefferan and Claire Coleman discuss this from their point of view and share their own experiences. This episode joins in from S2 Episode 2: when your friends are not okay (men's health week special). Stay tuned for S2 Episode 3, which will explore more in-depth the gender differences noted in S2 Episode 2 and 3. Season two is led by: Steph Hefferan and Declan Heath, along with the headspace Adelaide Youth Reference Group and Youth Ambassadors. Produced with support from Shane Hough and Jeff Smith. If you or someone you know is in need of crisis or suicide prevention support, please contact: - Lifeline on 13 11 14 (Australia) - Kids Helpline 1800 55 1800 (Australia) Disclaimer: Views and opinions expressed in this podcast are from young people involved at headspace Adelaide, or are guests invited to be interviewed.
