In 1966, two Brazilian men were found dead on Vintém Hill under bizarre circumstances that continue to perplex investigators and conspiracy theorists alike. Lying side by side, their bodies were discovered wearing matching lead masks—shields with no eyeholes—alongside cryptic notes. Were they victims of a cult ritual, a failed experiment, or something even more otherworldly? Up next is a conversation that I recently had with John Cleary . John has recently stepped away from leading School and System Improvement at the Northern Territory Department of Education. Before this, he was the Principal of a primary school in Katherine. He also created the NT Learning Commission, which promotes student-led research and uses the Impact Evaluation Cycle. In 2018, John was named one of 12 National Schools Plus Teaching Fellows and has received national recognition for his work as a principal. He is currently working towards a doctorate at the University of Melbourne. This conversation took place during a beautiful wet season storm in Larrakia Country, so very occasionally John’s connection drops out, but he comes right back. Here is a resource that is referenced in our conversation: https://www.cse.edu.au/wp-content/uploads/2024/08/CSE-Leading-Education-Series24-June2024-secure.pdf…

I’m pleased to share a recent conversation I had with Justine Toh. Justine writes about cultural trends and contemporary beliefs in the Australian media and is the author of the mini-book Achievement Addiction . Her work encourages us to question society's obsession with achievement and external validation. Whether it’s academic scores, property ownership, or career success, we often tie our self-worth to measurable outcomes. Justine challenges us to reassess why we strive so relentlessly and whether redefining success on our own terms is possible. 🎙 https://shorturl.at/6iVsq 💡 https://www.theartofteaching.org 🙋♂️ https://www.mathewgreen.com/about/ ✏️ https://www.mathewgreen.com/ideas/…
