In this episode of “How Do You Say That?!” sponsored by britishvoiceover.co.uk, Philip Chryssikos joins Sam and Mark to talk about how context changes a character read completely, how e-learning can be peppy, informative, quirky or even all three and one fun fact is a Sweet Little Mystery.

Our VO question this week is all about whether formal acting training is necessary to become a voice actor.

Get involved! Have you got a Wildcard suggestion that we should try or an idea for the show? Send it to us via Mark or Sam's social media or email it directly to podcast@britishvoiceover.co.uk

Script 1

But five years later, I met my fourth wife, had a slow and steady courtship, the longest I’ve ever had, and I married her a year later. She used to pull out the chair for me and let me go through doors first – she thought she was some sort of Regency ladykiller! And we were very happy.

Until six years later, when she suddenly announced that she was utterly disgusted by my signature carbonara and in fact, had always been utterly disgusted by it!

It turned out the carbonara wasn’t the only issue.

Script 2

Italiano is a restaurant chain in transition.

Company management has decided to effectively embed process- oriented management.

Marcella is Head of Corporate Development at Italiano. She is now going to investigate what is required for process-oriented management and begins by looking at the status quo.

She discovers that there is no uniform modelling of processes at Italiano – sometimes using PowerPoint, sometimes a modelling tool.
