Authors have many different sources of inspiration in writing books. For Arin Greenwood, it is her family and her love for animals. Arin is an animal writer, editor, novelist, and communications consultant who keeps many pets.

Arin’s book, Your Robot Dog Will Die, is set in a near-future world where real dogs are non-existent. Her goal? To make this a kinder world for animals.

All of Arin’s books are fiction yet the ideas embedded in these are based on what she sees, what she thinks, and what she feels. When she writes, Arin tells that she would always imagine a place where she would like to spend time in, and that is where the setting of the book would be.

Working as an animal welfare journalist and as a lawyer in Micronesia gave her the inspiration to write a fictional book centered on the profound impact of dogs in people’s lives. Apart from these, some of the people who influenced her as a writer were revealed in her acknowledgments: her family, her niece Maxi, as well as animal rescuers, shelter workers, and advocates.

Find out these and more by tuning in to this meaningful episode.
