Today we dive into the topic that can make any teacher feel a bit uneasy – those challenging conversations we have with parents.

This episode explores both the good and the not-so-good experiences of difficult conversations and how we can learn from them. I share valuable insights and strategies to help alleviate the stress that comes with these conversations, allowing us to handle them more effectively and have a much better relationship (and year) with both students and parents.

In this episode I share:

  • [02:29] Positive phone calls home alleviates parental anxiety.
  • [05:49] Regular updates bridge school and home learning.
  • [09:40] Examples needed to communicate concerns about a child's behavior.
  • [10:49] Be specific, clear, and ask for input.
  • [15:57] Limited progress, need to step it up. Help with difficult conversations.
