This is a very honest account of my early months of motherhood.

TRIGGER WARNING: I talk of my birth experience, birth trauma, and how fragile I was as a new Mum.

I wanted to speak about all of the things that I felt as I know so many Mamas who do not feel seen in their experience of Motherhood. This is due to the (often toxic, and certainly detrimental) emphasis on being the 'perfect Mum' that we see all over the place.

In this episode I speak about:

  • my expectations of birth and early motherhood
  • my birth experience
  • c-section scar massage and healing
  • moving gently after birth and why
  • not being in love with my baby right away
  • therapies I benefitted from
  • research I've done to help me heal

Themes: Mental Health, Mothering, Birth Trauma

At the end, I share a poem written by me.
