In this solo episode I am starting a mini-series on Informed Consent. What it is, why it's important, and why it is so crucial for us as consumers to do our due diligence when it comes to all the decisions we make in life (especially our healthcare decisions).

I know this is a niche topic, being that approximately 15% of women in the United States and 17% in Europe are Rh-, and this is still a topic that many of us can appreciate as it is a small glimpse into how so often the ones who are selling us the solution made the problem in the first place.

If you are an Rh- mama like myself who did not give truly informed consent, I see you. I pray you give yourself grace as you listen (as I remind myself every time I talk on RhoGAM) and that I did the best I could with the information I had.

The work of Sara Wickham

Anti-D Explained by Sara Wickham

Anit-D in Midwifery: Panacea or Paradox? by Sara Wickham (it is out of print but keep an eye out for it on ebay, or thriftbooks as this is my personal favorite of the two!)

If you enjoyed this episode I invite you to join Rooted Wisdom. This is a 3-month container where we dive deep into remembering our innate wisdom while exploring the following topics:

  • Women’s Anatomy
  • Somatics
  • Emotional Anatomy
  • Homeopathy
  • Traditional Chinese Medicine
  • Plant Medicine - and so much more!
