Lisa Thon was born in San Juan, Puerto Rico to a mix of American, Irish, German, and Puerto Rican ancestors. After graduating high school, Thon started her fashion studies at Altos de Chavón in the Dominican Republic and completed her Bachelor's Degree at Parsons School of Design in New York City. In 1996, she became the CEO of Centro Moda School of Design in San Juan P.R. Thon is currently the Design Department Director at EDP University of Puerto Rico. Singers and actresses like Yolandita Monge, Kany García, Melina León, Olga Tañón, Daddy Yankee, and Don Omar among others have been dressed by Lisa for special events, editorials, magazine covers, CD portraits, and music videos. In 2006, Thon was the first Puerto Rican designer to feature a collection during the prestigious New York Fashion Week. She was awarded the ‘Puerto Rican Heritage Award’ by the Comité Noviembre in New York City.
