Terry Kim is the Founder and CEO of NGT Academy — an online IT training program — and the NexGenT and the Zero to Engineer training framework methodologies. Terry is committed to reviving high-tech education and making it more accessible. His military and job experience has enabled him to train thousands of engineers for the US Air Force. Before founding NGT, Terry applied his talents at Cisco Systems and Arista Networks as a Systems Engineer. In September, Terry published Zero to Engineer: A Story of the American Dream, a memoir and roadmap based on his transformative journey from high school dropout to engineer to tech CEO.

Terry Kim, who received on-the-job IT training in the Air Force, has mentored and propelled many people’s careers using the necessary tools, frameworks, and strategies. Terry realized there was a better way of educating people without exorbitant tuition, which led him to found NGT Academy. Terry shares that IT is an in-demand career with nearly 600,000 cybersecurity jobs available, but there needs to be more qualified candidates. He also explains that IT careers expand beyond coding and software programming. NGT Academy offers various courses focused on technical training, including network engineering, cybersecurity, DevOps, and data science. Beyond skills training, NGT helps students transition into their careers through resume preparation, personal branding, networking, and employer matching.
